About Tyler

The foundations of my athletic background began at the age of four with soccer and martial arts, and stayed consistent until the age of fifteen. After achieving a black belt in karate, I began my weightlifting journey at a commercial gym. After 8 years of consistent lifting I was able to turn my skinnier, ectomorphic body type into a much stronger individual, both physically and mentally. During this time I began working at a kickboxing gym, where I was able to adapt my foundation of karate into a new skill with my new found strength.

The most important aspects of fitness are consistency, and understanding the mind’s power over the body. When you make a choice to wake up and go to the gym, it is not your body that made this choice, it is your mind. When you are deciding how many days you will train this week it is your mind that makes this choice. During your training sessions it is often not your body that quits during your workout set, it is your mind that is telling you to stop when experiencing discomfort. However, if you are able to learn how to stick to a consistent workout routine, and push yourself a little bit further everyday, the results you desire and your goals will be achieved. It is a guarantee.

In both classes and personal training sessions I place a lot of emphasis on attitude and enthusiasm. Whether you are a beginner, novice or professional, having the correct mindset is key and that is the main focus of my training method. Improved attitude and mindset will allow you to push your body further and guarantee success from a strength training aspect and a fat loss aspect. While training with me I will focus on your weak points as well as your strengths in the gym. While focusing on your body’s strengths is important to instill confidence in your ability, it is also important that we bring up your weaknesses so they become strengths and improve your body’s overall capabilities.
