ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Fitness Studio Director who excels in both fitness sales and team leadership. In this senior role, you will focus on achieving the company’s monthly membership goals while overseeing a small team of personal trainers and reception staff. You will work closely with the owners to ensure the onboarding process for new members is seamless while providing exceptional service to our existing clientele. Your position and compensation within the club will evolve as you meet targets and demonstrate growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Staff Management: Lead and mentor a team of personal trainers and receptionists, ensuring high performance and alignment with company values.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio, maintaining a clean, organized, and motivating environment.
  • Sales: Drive membership sales, hitting or exceeding monthly targets through proactive outreach, consultations, and networking.
  • Client Relations: Build lasting relationships with members, providing exceptional service and ensuring high client retention.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Coordinate local marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, community email outreach, and corporate wellness initiatives both in Vaughan & in our plaza

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Conduct fitness consultations: including body compositions, functional movement screens, and exercise sessions.
  • Lead Generation: Dedicate daily hours to outbound & inbound lead generation, prospecting, and conducting member workshops.
  • Provide club tours: demonstrating how our programs and services can help clients reach their fitness goals.
  • Deliver price presentations: send proposals, and participate in off-site networking events.
  • Manage Staff: Motivate, educate & empower all fitness coaches to ensure programs are delivered effectively and consistently and all administrative duties are being completed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Personal Trainer with a reputable certification (e.g., CSEP, CPTN, ACE, ISSA, DTS Level 1, PN).
  • Background in Kinesiology, Fitness & Health Promotions, or Fitness Sales (preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (mandatory).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fitness sales with proven sales skills.
  • Strong knowledge & ability to speak freely on anatomy, somatotype, and functional training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, computer, and social media skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours (midday to evenings, including one-weekend shift).
  • Access to a vehicle and ability to commute.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • At least 2+ years of experience selling personal training and memberships in fitness industry
  • A valid personal training certification and proven experience in fitness sales and management.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, staff management, and client relations within the fitness industry.
  • A high-energy, motivated personality with multitasking and leadership abilities.

WORK SCHEDULE: Choose From 2 Shifts

  • Monday to Thursday: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm + Saturday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Additional midday to evening shifts as needed (35-40 hours per week)
  • Can also select an alternative shift from Monday to Thursday: 10am to 1pm (have 2h break 2-4pm) then close from 4-9pm + Saturday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

COMPENSATION: Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive 5-level compensation package, that yields a range of $46,440 to $82,800 Annually:
  • Base salary: Starting from $3120/month, with growth potential up to $5000 based on performance.
  • Sales commissions: 4-10% on sales, plus tiered bonuses for hitting monthly targets.
  • # Members Sold Bonus: Receive additional bonus based on tiered members sold

  • Travel Expense: Gas card & expenses provided at specific sales targets
  • Service pay: $27-30 per hour for one-on-one or semi-private sessions based on experience.

  • Work alongside a 30-year Personal Training Veteran owner and pioneer of personal training in the city of Toronto and a team of coaches who have mastered the art of 1on1, 2on1, semi-private and team training!

  • PAYROLL: Must have experience preparing basic payroll using the above software (or any other related software) and be responsible for any staff timesheet corrections. *Training will be provided for this but QuickBooks knowledge is required*
  • MANAGE INVENTORY: Order supplies and Pro-shop inventory of supplies as needed
  • CONTRACT DATA ENTRY: Responsible to sign off on daily data entry for all client contracts when completed, provide audits for all staff contracts inputting into sales database

  • INPUT RECEIPTS TO QUICKBOOKS: On a monthly basis organize and input all company expenses into Quick books.
  • PEOPLE SKILLS: Must have amazing people skills and can get along with different personality types & handle/manage customer service escalations
  • NEW CUSTOMER REQUESTS: Respond to incoming emails and calls regarding all services activities such as setting up service agreement documents, booking/hiring
  • HIRING & STAFF REQUESTS: Assist the Fitness Director/Owners in recruiting activities such as creating job postings, openings on various job boards, conducting email, phone, set up appts & share relevant information and documents to potential staff upon hiring, and updating staff list to reflect new hires.

  • Be Punctual for AM openings, professional and responsible as you will need to either open or close the studio

. Spray, Disinfect and assist with daily studio sanitization cleaning duties (wearing gloves, & protected behind Full reception safety plexi glass)

  • Answer a multi-line phone systemefficiently and quickly with clear professionalism.
  • Perform DAILY communication outreach, daily booking / confirm appts, making shakes & providing tours

. Perform DAILY Admin: Take Gym payments, print out invoices, confirmation calls to Clients, Contract data entry

. Perform routine floor checks to ensure members are taken care of and the studio is tidy & stocked

QUALIFICATIONS:

. Must enjoy fitness & exercise and want to participate/ work out 2-3x week at our studio

  • Must have access to a vehicle and be able to open or close the studio 
  • Possess Excellent telephone skills and professional English etiquette. Know how to handle affluent clientele and provide exceptional customer service

POSITION OVERVIEW/FUNCTION:
*The role of the Fitness Coach is multipart and he/she is responsible for:
  • There is NO SALES required we do all the selling for you and you assist with servicing the member…No sales quoats…No Monthly stress…Just coaching!
  • Provide initial fitness assessments with potential new members; performing medical background intake, body composition assessments, functional movement screens, and practical training sessions (all trained by us)
  • Train ALL types of members at PMF in Semi-Private Group Training Classes with up to 6 & 10 per class, 1on1, 2on1 Sessions
  • Follows program design for coaching classes design created by PMF program director
  • Conduct Bi-monthly body composition testing for members & accurately store their info
  • Provide off-day instructions for clients to follow provided by us
  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class and be able to bend, stand, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Collaborate with the coaching team to create engaging social media content for our members.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven track record or experience personal training of min 2 years in actual fitness establishment/company
  • Tier #1-Completion in a University Degree or College Diploma Program in Physical Education, Exercise Science/Physiology, Kinesiology or Fitness & Health promotions is preferred but not mandatory!
  • Tier #2 -Completion of an Active Body Certification is our secondary form of education we request such as CSEP, DTS Lev 1 -2, NSCA, FMS Lev 1-2, I.S.S.A, ACE , PN to name a few
  • Actively Certified in CPR and First Aid
  • Or Previous work experience in any Hospitality Management Industry or Trade is helpful
